We were looking at a number of log home companies, including Honest Abe Log Homes. We located a home builder, Steve Wallin of “Custom Homes of Asheville”. We then started to get excited and serious about building a vacation log home in the mountains. Well, our mailbox started to receive information from a number of log home companies. Not knowing much about log homes, I asked for information from the Log Homes Council. As we started to look into the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina (similar to the Catskills) we found a beautiful mountain community in western North Carolina. In 2012 we decided to take a vacation back to the Catskill mountains and realized that although we love Florida we missed the mountains. “Linda and I built a home in Florida in 2002, selling our home located in the Catskill mountains of New York.

We use some of the best 3D modeling and design software available, and can show you almost exactly how your custom designed finished home will look while we explore the 3D model – ensuring that all the various elements interact correctly. With our in-house drafting and design capability we are able to create your home to suit your specific needs, whether your ideas came from our floor plans, another website or just a bunch of scribbles on a napkin. In fact, we expect and encourage you to customize your home’s plan to perfection.

We don’t force you, our client, to choose between either a canned house plan from an archive of hundreds, or expect you to pay an extra fee for customizing it to fit your needs. As custom log and timber frame home builders, we understand that there are no “perfect” stock floor plans.
